How to Apply IontoPatch™

IontoPatch™ stands as a groundbreaking solution in transdermal drug delivery, offering an extended, time-released mechanism for targeted relief. Applying IontoPatch™

Applying IontoPatch™ is a straightforward process designed for ease and efficiency.

Step 1

Prepare Site

Prepare the site by trimming hair, cleaning the skin, and drying the area thoroughly.

Clean the Area with Soap and Water

Dry thoroughly. An alcohol wipe should not be used to clean the skin as it may dry the skin and cause irritation.

Fill One Electrode with Medication

Remove one of the six patches provided and a vial of saline.

Apply the medication to one pad. If your medicine is positively charged apply it to the positive side of the patch and if it's negatively charged apply it to the negative side.

  • IontoPatch™ Stat: use 1.0ml of medication
  • IontoPatch™ 80: use 1.3ml of medication
  • IontoPatch™ Extra Strength: use 1.0ml of medication

Apply saline to the other, leaving a 3mm border around the edges, avoid overfilling and throw away excess saline.

If you have questions about the charge of the medicine and what side to place it on please contact your pharmacist or medical provider.

Note: You will NOT use all the saline provided. Discard the remaining saline.

Step 4

Position Joint

Position the joint midway through the full range of motion to find the placement area.

Place Patch

Remove the backing and place the patch in the desired location with the medication electrode over the treatment site.

Secure Patch

Secure the patch by running your finger around the perimeter and outer edge. Do not press at the center of electrodes during initial application — this could compromise adhesion by forcing liquid on the adhesive.

Removing IontoPatch™

To remove your iontophoresis patch, slowly remove it using soap and water in the shower or bath to minimize skin irritation.
